It’s no secret I love October. It’s special to me and my family for many reasons. The seasons may be changing and the leaves are literally dying off the trees, but for us, October blooms new life and opportunities.
My husband and I began dating nine years ago during October. My son was born in October. I celebrate the day of my birth too. My parents were married in October. We moved into our home and started a new chapter during last October. So lots of new beginnings and life to be celebrated in autumn!
I also released my first ever book, Unsent Letters, in October 2023! My first written baby! My first collection of poetry can be found at Barnes and Noble (only online) and at a local boutique, Bloom Again in Midland, NC.
And now….it is also live on Amazon! God is so good to me, and I cling to His steadfast love that endures forever. My hope and trust in Jesus keeps me going! I’m also thankful to all of you who have followed my writing and dreams, and cracked open the spine of my beloved book. I also wish to thank those in advance who choose to buy a copy after seeing this post.
I spent several years crafting those poems. My project began as a freshman in college but it wasn’t until my senior year when I started to believe my hobby could become an actual book that others could pick up and read. I graduated in 2020, and just wasn’t able to finally make the plunge and turn my passion into a public, tangible something you can hold in your hand until three years later.
Now, it has been two years of that dream coming to fruition and I still am in disbelief my words are sitting on a shelf in my living room next to other authors I enjoy reading.
I’m not an expert, famous, or really anyone in the literary world. Just a girl who loves Jesus and wants to honor Him with the gift He gave me to string some sentences together. Some days it doesn’t feel like much, and others I feel Him saying over me, “don’t waste this gift.”
I’m not great at promoting my work. It feels wrong to me because my name is on the front cover. I can’t do anything without Jesus giving me the air in my lungs and the strength to keep going. I’m just thankful God knows my heart and allowed this dream to come to life.
I haven’t been able to write as much since I got pregnant not long after publishing my book. While I have plans for more in the future, most of my ideas are still sitting in draft mode. There are a few things in the pipeline, so hopefully I will add more to the shelf in the coming years! Stick with me and stay tuned! Maybe even something other than just poems…
Again, I appreciate all the support and am excited to share a new avenue to purchase my book! If you already have a copy, feel free to tell a friend who you think might enjoy!
